Elaine uses a combined therapeutic approach to health behaviour change in the area of weight management, anxiety and stress management. Elaine works with clients to develop a healthy relationship with food and body image. She also works with clients in developing healthy coping tools to manage anxiety and stress and to support clients in changing lifestyle behaviours. High levels of anxiety and stress are associated with a range of illnesses such as cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes. Lifestyle change such as losing weight and managing stress can be extremely effective in lowering cholesterol, blood pressure and controlling blood/ glucose levels.
Over the last 10 years Elaine has worked with clients in areas of disordered eating and binge eating, by providing a non- judgemental space to support clients to identify the causes of underlining causes of unhealthy food relationships. By combining therapeutic techniques such as CBT and Mindfulness we work at reducing anxiety and behaviour change in coping. In the recent year Elaine has worked with clients who are also prescribed weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and has seen some very successful change in longer term weight management, improved self-esteem and healthy eating.
